UK Stainless Steel Surcharges Announced

UK stainless steel surcharges have been announced for August deliveries

The figures announced have reduced slightly from July following continued falls in the Nickel price on the LME, however since then Nickel prices have bounced back. As summer shutdowns approach many manufacturing mills may extend shut downs to try and maintain price levels, Ferritic prices still remain strong due to high Chrome prices filtering through.

The UK surcharges announced are listed below, more grades available on request:-

1.4301 Grade 304 1300 GBP
1.4404 Grade 316 2062 GBP
1.4016 Grade 430 411 GBP

The surcharges have a direct bearing on end user stainless steel prices and are designed to allow for more even pricing by being a 30 day average with surcharges made up of Nickel, Chrome and in the case of 316 Molybdenum prices along with factors for currency as the majority of commodities are traded in USD.
