Stainless Steel Sheet: Our Premium Selection

In the 25+ years that BS Stainless has been operating, we have grown to become one of the world's most highly-renowned providers of stainless steel in all of its many forms, which we supply to a diverse array of clients in more than 50 countries. Our comprehensive product portfolio includes a range of stainless steel sheet, which is also known as stainless steel plate.

The versatility of stainless steel plate sees it used in many different industries, from maritime and chemical to construction, catering and transportation. Boasting numerous qualities, including its unmatched durability, formability and corrosion-resistance, our stainless steel sheet is of the very best quality and is made available to our clients at the most competitive price point.

Our stocks of stainless steel sheet are vast, with many different standard sizes available for fast delivery to anywhere in the world; where required, we can also cut the sheet to client-specified sizes. The collection consists of plate crafted using the finest stainless steel from the popular 300, 400 series, with other grades available to purchase on request. These different grades are designed to facilitate various applications and some of the most common are detailed below.

  • 304. Displaying good corrosion resistance and especially suitable for welding, stainless steel plate of the 304 grade is extremely versatile and cost-effective.
  • 316. Where extra resistance to corrosion (especially pitting corrosion) is required, such as in marine environments or those that are otherwise acidic, grade 316 stainless steel plate is recommended as it contains added molybdenum.
  • 321. This specialist grade contains titanium, which further enhances its weldability characteristics as well as imbuing it with added resistance to the damaging effects of intergranular corrosion.
  • 430. This is a ferritic grade of stainless steel which is widely used in the domestic and catering sectors.
  • Other 4 series grades such as 409, 439Ti and 441 widely used for automotive applications especially exhausts and silencers.

We offer many different finishing options to customers who require stainless steel sheet. These include:

  • Hot-Rolled / No.1 finish. When the aesthetic appearance of the plate's surface is not a key consideration, this scaled finish represents the most cost-effective option.
  • Dull Polish. The brushed, non-reflective appearance of this finish combines with an ability to be quickly and easily cleaned, making it a popular choice within catering establishments and for protective push/kick plates on all kinds of doors.
  • Bright Annealed / 2R. This finish is applied in a carefully-controlled atmosphere, resulting in stainless steel sheet that has an attractive, highly-reflective surface.
  • 2B. Cold rolled , skin passed to be super-smooth and with a reflective grey sheen, the 2B finish is widely chosen for many different applications.
  • 2D Cold rolled, heat treated, pickled - lower reflectivity ideal for areas when high reflectivity can cause issues such as offshore platform or railways.

All of these finishes, along with several others that can be provided on request, can also be supplied with a protective film coating.

When manufacturing and processing stainless steel plate, we work strictly within the scope of our ISO 9001:2015 accredited management system as well as the demanding BS EN 10088-2 specification.
