Stainless Steel surcharges increase
23rd January 2012, 10:48 Latest published stainless steel surcharges show a significant increase. This is due to higher Nickel costs which recently reached a 12 week high on the LME. The increase for 304 (1.4301) is £104($149) and £139 ($197) for grade 316 (1.4404). The surcharge figures for stainless steel deliveries in the UK are applicable from the 1st of February. This follows recent announcements from MEPS the independent supplier of steel market information that stainless steel prices will increase 25% in the first half of this year.
